This course celebrates our passion for the county of Cornwall and its rich cultural and artistic heritage – as well as its natural beauty.
It is perfect for more mature students who wish to explore Cornwall – its beautiful coastline and vibrant artistic past and present – combining cultural visits with relevant English classes.
Mornings are spent at Babel Fish Language School, located at Trenance Heritage cottages in the heart of Newquay. We employ the same innovative teaching practices as with our General English lessons.
Each afternoon we head out to tour the county: we take you to popular tourist destinations, but also show you less well-known spots, secluded beaches and the best places to eat and drink with our insider, local knowledge.
Excursion timetables change regularly, but include some of the following destinations:

Cornwall has captured the imagination of writers, artists and film makers for years: Rosemaunde Pilcher, Ross Poldark and Doc Martin are synonymous with Cornwall.
Many films and TV series are filmed on location in Cornwall: re-visit the locations in person on our walking tours of the coast.
What does a Babel Fish lesson look like?
At Babel Fish, we encourage students to talk as much as possible. Our lessons are designed to get students to debate, create, discuss and role-play. We work on everyday, practical English as well as pronunciation and phonics. Students will also learn creative writing techniques and how to critically analyse different types of literature.

Babel Fish Language School is located at Trenance Heritage cottages in the heart of Newquay. Set within beautiful landscaped gardens, our school boasts comfortable, light and airy classrooms – with wifi. We are within walking distance of Newquay town centre, five minutes from the beach and with two lovely cafes within a minute of the school.
