At Babel Fish we specialise in surfing. Alex has been instructing and coaching for over 15 years, working with both complete beginners and intermediate surfers who wish to improve. Cornwall is blessed with a variety of quality beaches, so we can usually find somewhere to get in the sea regardless of the conditions! All equipment is provided.
An exhilarating way to see the coastline. Students meet with our professional guides who kit them out with all the equipment needed, give them a safety brief and take them off to traverse and jump! We go Coasteering along the Gannel Estuary and near Towan Beach, it’s great fun.
Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP)
SUPing is another great way to see the coastline. Sometimes we go out from Crantock beach and paddle around the headlands, often seeing seals and other sea-life; other times we head down the Gannel Estuary for a more tranquil experience. Alternatively we will Sup from Towan Beach to Porth Island, taking in the the beautiful coastal scenery on the way.
Compete with other nationalities on Towan or Fistral Beach. Volleyball, football or tug of war.
The ten-pin bowling alley is situated at The Hotel California, overlooking the Gannel River. Discover who is Lord of the Pins.
We arrive in the market town of Wadebridge where we collect our bikes and set off on the Camel Trail, a flat, traffic free trail with stunning scenery. We cycle 9km to the fishing town of Padstow where students can wander around the harbour, shops and many cafes, get a traditional Cornish Pasty or sample some of the most famous fish and chips in the country. Work it all off with a return 9km cycle.
Meet at the school for an evening of games: typical board games and card games, but also PS4. Listen to music, bring some snacks and just chill out with your friends.
There are too many spectacular coastal walks to list in Cornwall. One of our favourites is from Chapel Porth to St Agnes, past the historical tin mines where on a clear day, you can see all the way from St Ives in the South to Trevose Head in the North.
Eden Project, Lanhydrock House, Flambards, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and many other places.
